Meet Shannon Platt

Shannon will be standing in for Coach Julie to offer a Dressage Clinic in Witbank on 4th and 5th October!

She’s been riding since she was 5, starting out on her dad’s polo ponies. Shannon comes from a family with deep equestrian roots, her dad played polo throughout his youth, and her mom was involved in horse racing.

Shannon began eventing at age 10 and traveled extensively for three-day events. After returning from Dubai, she worked as a stable manager and head instructor at a private yard for two years. She then had the exciting opportunity to teach English riding in California, where she also explored western riding and vaulting, even competing in a few western pleasure shows.

Since coming back, Shannon has continued teaching privately, guiding riders of all levels from those simply enjoying being on a horse to those competing in the show ring. She’s passionate about helping every rider grow in skill, confidence, and enjoyment of the sport.
